You may have realised by now that I just love architecture and here are some of the house styles that I managed to photograph as I walked back towards the town centre, down Portesbury Road.  The first one I have been inside, when it was for sale in much its original state in the 1980s (?) – and it was a triumph of 1960s modernism with an atrium and a massive garage on the ground floor of the two storey section.  I vaguely recall a Bentley still being there, but I may have imagined that!  Unfortunately it had enormous windows but they weren’t double glazed and we couldn’t have afforded the running costs!

The second house is a nice example of ‘modern executive’ and the third a really neat example of a small arts and crafts cottage – possible from about 1910?
