Now Camberley definitely should have one of these!

All is not what it seems here – this 1860s Penfold post-box is a replica from 1989!  Penfold was born in Haslemere and there is more information here: John Wornham Penfold and his pillar box.

But, I am thinking – since Camberley is such a Victorian town, why can’t we have some replica items around the place?  What do you think?

  1. There used to be a Victorian pillar box in The Avenue, near the London Road junction, but now that has gone, like anything else that is old. Sometimes I am scared to stand still for too long, in case they!!!!.
