Farnham’s museum is housed in a building originally built for a hop-merchant in 1718.  Difficult to imagine now but the town was famous for its brewing long before it became an elegant dormitory for city workers.  It is also easy to forget that until 1926 Farnham Castle was the residence of the Bishop of Winchester, so this has always been a town of consequence!
