River Blackwater – our local gateway to the sea!

Here is our very own local river – sparkling in the unlikely winter sunshine.  As you probably know it starts just outside Aldershot and then joins the Loddon and flows, ultimately, into the Thames.  The bridge in yesterday’s photo was carrying the Blackwater Valley Road over the water and was taken from the path of the same name.  I managed to take several photos recently – just before the last Ice Age and I will be posting them here this week.
