…or is it just something that grown-ups buy as a present for themselves in December? Whatever the situation, I could see, when I took this photo, that Camberley’s Cycle Store in Park Street was encouraging people to reserve bikes with Christmas in mind. They certainly seem to have an enormous selection – and workshops at the back as well, I believe. I can’t add any more information here as they don’t seem to have a website and, although I used to cycle a lot when I was a student – that is another story…..
Probably they do. Have a look at http://cyclinginfo.co.uk/blog/2636/cycling/stats-uk/ – though heaven knows where the statistics come from.
I always like some stats!
I’ve bought 2 bikes for myself there over the years (never put to good enough use!), and as a non-bikey person found them to be extremely helpful.
As one who hasn’t been on a bike since student days I am not really able to judge – so thanks for this Denise!
If that’s the one that used to be Action Bikes (opposite from where the old newsagent used to be) then they are very good. I’ve bought a fair amount of stuff from them in the past. With regards to children getting bikes for Christmas, our 7 year old certainly is, though I have to confess I bought it from Halfords.
Yes, that’s the one! I have thought of getting bikes for my squirrels – in the hope that they will go and be a nuisance somewhere else!!
Dominic, I hope your 7 year old isn’t reading this blog. Otherwise you’ve just blown Santa’s existence out of the water….
